Growing up above a pub on Capel Street, he was immersed in a rich tapestry of music and storytelling from an early age, which deeply influenced his musical journey.

As a modern-day balladeer, Billy masterfully blends contemporary storytelling with traditional instruments, seamlessly connecting the past with the present. His debut album, "Head Above Water," released in 2015 and produced by Conor Brady, features tracks like "Temple Bar," a humorous yet insightful commentary on Dublin's famed cultural quarter, and "Woe!," a poignant reflection on the challenges faced by many during Ireland's recession.

In 2022, Billy and his band, The Scope, unveiled their second album, "Life." This ten-track collection delves into themes close to Billy's heart, such as Dublin's evolving landscape and personal tributes. Songs like "Dollymount Beach" and "The Market" nostalgically reminisce about the Dublin of his youth, "Moving This Way" tells of the plight of the homeless and the challenges of modern day Ireland, while "Ma" serves as a touching homage to his mother.

Billy's musical endeavors have taken him across the globe, with tours in countries like Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Italy, the UK, and the USA. He has also graced stages at renowned venues, including Dublin's Whelan's, The Olympia and even Croke Park Stadium. He has been featured on various media platforms, including RTÉ Television and numerous radio stations and has shared the stage and collaborated with an array of legends of the Irish music scene.

Collaborating with The Scope, which comprises of an ever changing line up of talented musicians such as Eoin Dillon (Uilleann Pipes), Anna Mary Donaghy (Fiddle), Dave McNevin (Banjo), Sean Loonam (Bodhran), Michelle O'Brien (Fiddle). Billy continues to enrich the Irish folk scene with his evocative storytelling and authentic sound.
